Tesla Battery Replacement in Dubai: the Low-Voltage Unit

Every Tesla has two batteries. The large high-voltage pack drives the car; a small low-voltage battery runs the computers, locks and screen, and without it the car will not wake up. Earlier cars use a 12-volt lead-acid unit, while newer Model 3, Y, S and X cars have switched to a lithium-ion low-voltage battery. We work out which yours has, test it, and replace it on site within about 30 minutes.

Overview

Which Battery Needs Replacing

When a Tesla shows a low-voltage battery warning, or will not unlock or wake at all, the small battery is usually the cause. It is a service part that ages just as a conventional battery does, and it is swapped on site, with the correct type for the model year and the car put into a safe state before anything is disconnected.

The traction pack is another matter entirely. Range loss, slow supercharging or pack faults are for Tesla's own service network, which has the equipment and the warranty records for it. We will tell you honestly which battery your symptoms point to before any work is booked.

Step by step

How We Replace a Tesla Low-Voltage Battery

Four steps, from confirming the fault to a car that wakes normally. The high-voltage system is never opened:

01

Confirm the Fault

Warnings and symptoms are checked to make sure the low-voltage battery, not the main pack, is at fault.

02

Identify the Type

The model and build year tell us whether it uses a 12-volt lead-acid or a lithium-ion unit.

03

Replace Safely

Once the car is made safe, the worn unit comes out and the correct one goes in.

04

Wake and Verify

The car is woken, warnings are cleared and normal operation confirmed before we leave, including locks, windows and the screen.
