Supercars and the Battery That Sits
Most Ferraris cover modest mileage, often in short, spirited drives followed by days or weeks parked. Security, telemetry and memory systems draw current throughout, and without the maintainer connected the battery drifts down towards flat. Each time that happens it loses a little of its life, which is why many owners here need a new battery every two to three years.
Plug-in hybrids such as the SF90 and 296 still rely on a 12-volt battery to wake the car. If it is weak, the car may not start even with the high-voltage pack charged. We deal with the 12-volt side; the hybrid system itself remains with the dealer.
