Where Each Maserati Keeps Its Battery
Putting the battery in the boot helps weight balance on a front-engined car, but it means a flat battery is not where most people look. There is a jump-start point in the engine bay, and the battery itself is reached by lifting the boot floor. The sensor clipped to the negative terminal has to be refitted carefully so the car can keep track of the new battery.
Newer models bring more electrical systems and, on the Grecale, a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup that works alongside the 12-volt battery rather than replacing it. On the fully electric Folgore versions, the 12-volt unit is what switches the car on.
