Two Very Different Lexus Batteries
A hybrid's 12-volt battery is small, often AGM, and its failure looks unlike a normal flat battery: the dashboard may light up but the car will not reach ready, or nothing happens at all when you press start. Because it rarely does heavy work, it can go years before failing and then fail with little warning. We test it properly, fit the correct type in whichever location the model uses, and never disturb the high-voltage system. The LX and GX, built on the same foundations as Toyota's large four-wheel drives, carry a much larger battery that works hard on hot days with the air-conditioning running. Both get a load test, a charging check and backup power holding the electrics.
