The Two Parts of a Battery Change Done Right
The first part is physical: lifting the boot floor, disconnecting the negative lead and the sensor, and swapping in a unit of the same type and capacity. On cars with start-stop that means AGM, or EFB where the original was EFB.
The second part is electronic. The car logs the new battery's details and resets its ageing record, so the alternator charges it correctly and start-stop behaves as designed. If you are fitting a larger capacity than before, the car needs to know that too.
