Your A200 Has Two Batteries, and They Fail Separately
This is the single most useful thing to know about this car, and the reason so many A-Class owners replace a battery and still have a warning light.

Why the A200 Needs AGM, Not a Cheaper Battery
The A200 shuts the engine off at every set of lights and restarts it when you lift off the brake. Each of those restarts is a deep, sharp draw, and on a busy commute down Sheikh Zayed Road it happens dozens of times an hour.
A conventional flooded battery is not built for that pattern. It is designed to give one big discharge to start the engine and then be topped straight back up. Cycle it the way start-stop does and it sulfates early, loses cranking power, and fails well inside its normal life.
AGM holds its electrolyte in a glass mat rather than as free liquid. It accepts charge faster, tolerates repeated partial discharge, and stands up to the vibration and heat of an engine bay in a Dubai August. It costs more for a reason, and fitting anything else to an A200 is a false economy the car will punish within a year. Why It Has to Be Coded After Fitting
There is an intelligent battery sensor on the negative terminal of your A200. It reports current, voltage and temperature to the car, which builds a picture of how tired the battery is and adjusts the alternator to suit.
Fit a new battery without telling the car, and that picture does not reset. The charging system carries on running the profile it learned for a battery that was on its last legs, which means it either overcharges the new one or never fully charges it.
